Terms of Use

Last updated 22 October 2026 · Applies to stickwise.app and the Stickwise app

These are the ground rules for using Stickwise. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. They're written to be read, not skimmed — it takes two minutes.

1. What Stickwise is

Stickwise is provided by Manpreet Arora, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we" and "us" in these terms). Stickwise gives you flashcards, revision notes, practice marking, quiz games and classes built around GCSE exam-board specifications. It's a study aid. It doesn't replace your teacher, your textbook or the exam board's own materials, and we can't promise any particular grade — that part is down to you. Courses cover the exam-board content we say they cover; where a course offers options (for example set texts or geography topics), the app lets you choose the ones your school teaches.

Stickwise also has a Library, where you can turn documents you have into study notes, flashcards and lesson questions for your own study. The rules for it are in Your Library: documents you import below.

2. Your account

3. Playing fair

Games, classes and scoreboards only work if everyone plays honestly. Don't use bots, scripts, multiple accounts or other tricks to inflate scores or ratings, and don't harass other players. We may reset scores or ratings, remove published decks, or close accounts that do. Ranked ratings are only shown when ranked play is switched on for the site.

4. Our content

The flashcards, notes, diagrams, marking schemes and software in Stickwise are ours (or used with permission). You can use them for your own studying, including on multiple devices. You can't copy them in bulk, scrape them, resell them or republish them as your own. Exam-board specifications belong to the exam boards; we write our own material to cover them. This doesn't cover the study notes made from documents you import into your Library: see Your Library.

5. Your content

Cards and decks you write stay yours. By adding them to Stickwise you let us store them and show them back to you, to anyone you share a game with, and, if you publish a deck to the community, to everyone. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful, abusive or aimed at another person. We may remove published decks that break these rules.

6. Marking

Typed answers are marked by our own rules against the mark-scheme key terms and, when the smart examiner is switched on, by an AI examiner as well. It's useful, but it isn't a real examiner and can occasionally be wrong. Treat marks as guidance, and use the simpler answers and notes to check your understanding. You can always tell the app you disagree with a mark.

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Stickwise up, but it's provided "as is" — sometimes it will be down for updates or because of things outside our control. We add, change and occasionally remove features, courses and cards as exam specifications change. If we ever had to close the service we'd give reasonable notice and a way to export your own cards.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that can't be limited. Beyond that, we're not liable for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, or that come from using Stickwise for anything other than personal study.

Your Library: documents you import

When you're signed in, you can import a document you have into your Library, such as a PDF, an ebook, a subtitle file or text you paste in, or just add a PDF, an ebook or a text file to read it. Stickwise uses AI to make study notes, flashcards and lesson questions from its text. Our Privacy Policy explains how that text is handled.

If you own the rights in a work and believe it has been imported or shared through Stickwise without permission, email [email protected]. We remove infringing material promptly, and we may suspend the account of anyone who does this repeatedly.

The study notes, flashcards and questions in your Library are written by AI. They can contain mistakes or leave things out, so check important facts against the original.

Importing uses credits. For each page of the original (a page is 1,800 characters of text, about 300 words, however the file is laid out), a Fast import uses 20 credits for the condensed notes, 12 more for lessons, 16 more for flashcards and 2 more for key terms. A Saver import, made a little later, uses half as many. Looking up the meaning of a word while you read uses 3 credits. The app shows what an import will use before it starts. You can buy credits as one-off top-ups, or get the Library plan, which includes credits every month. Sample books are free to study, and reading and studying what you have imported is always free. Adding a document just to read it, without study notes, is free. A free account holds up to 3 such documents and 50 MB in total; the Library plan holds an unlimited number, up to 5 GB in total. Each file can be up to 50 MB. If your plan ends, nothing is deleted: you can still read every document you have added, and you can add more once you are within the free account's limits again, or back on the plan. We may pause adding documents for a while, for example if our storage is full; you can still read the ones you have added. The current prices, credits and limits are shown in the app and below, and they may change. Credits are for normal personal use. Don't try to get around the limits, for example by opening extra accounts. We may limit imports for accounts that do.

Stickwise GCSE is free

Stickwise GCSE, with its revision notes, flashcards, lessons, quiz games and teacher tools, is free to use. It does not ask for payment details, and there is no subscription to buy.

Stickwise Plus, the paid GCSE plan offered during the beta, has closed. Any Plus subscription has been cancelled, and no further payments will be taken. If you have a question about a Plus payment, email [email protected] with your account email and purchase date. Your statutory rights are unchanged.

Stickwise Library plan

The Library plan costs £9.99 per month, paid in advance. The price includes VAT where it applies: if you live in the European Union, the VAT for your country is part of the £9.99, not added to it. It renews automatically each month at the same price until you cancel. The total is shown before payment. The plan is offered worldwide. The price is in pounds sterling, and your bank or card provider may convert it into your currency.

The plan gives you a monthly allowance of credits to import into your Library (currently 5,000 credits a month). Credits you don't use in a month don't carry over. Top-up credits you have bought are used after the plan's credits for the month. Everything you have already made stays in your Library if the plan ends.

Cancel renewal in Credits and plan before your next billing date, and the plan continues until the paid period ends. Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel renewal. There is no additional voluntary money-back guarantee. You can cancel the initial contract without giving a reason within 14 days of entering it by emailing [email protected] with your account email and purchase date. Your statutory rights are unchanged. You may use this cancellation notice: “I wish to cancel my Stickwise Library contract. Account email: ____. Purchase date: ____. Name: ____. Address: ____. Date: ____.” We will give reasonable advance notice of a price change.

Stickwise Library top-ups

Top-ups are one-off payments for credits to import: 1,000 credits for £2.99, 2,000 credits for £4.99 or 4,000 credits for £9.99. They are offered worldwide and priced in pounds sterling, with VAT included where it applies. The total is shown before payment. Top-up credits never expire and stay with your account. They are used after any plan credits for the month, and a part of a document that fails to build gives its credits back.

You can cancel a top-up within 14 days of buying it by emailing [email protected] with your account email and purchase date, and we will refund the credits you have not used. Your statutory rights are unchanged.

9. Privacy

How we look after your information is covered in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. The legal bit

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we update them in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app; the date at the top shows the current version. Questions: [email protected].
